Program Mission and Vision
The purpose of our Extended Care Program is to provide your child(ren) with a sense of well-being while giving you the feeling that your child(ren) will be adequately cared for. Our Program follows all school rules. The care and safety of your child(ren) is our number one concern.
Your child(ren) will have fun, relax, be creative, hang out with friends, and just be kids. We focus on being considerate toward others with kindness in words and actions, cooperation, and taking turns. We also reinforce what they learn in the classroom about the importance of community while working on community projects. Children of all ages can participate in activities, work on homework, or increase certain skills. This organized structure helps students with their confidence and builds their academic skills.
Before School Care Specifics
Start Time
Based on the anticipated drop off time as indicated by the family on their Extended Care registration form. For the 2023-2024 school year, this is currently approximately 6:45 am – 7 am.
End Time
7:40 am when students are released to their classroom for the start of the school day.
Food / Snacks
None, however families are allowed to pack breakfast items for their child(ren) if desired.
Before School Care is not available when school is not in session or on mornings of a 2-hour delay due to weather.
After School Care Specifics
Start Time
3:20 pm with end of the day dismissal.
End Time
Based on the anticipated pick up time as indicated by the family on their Extended Care registration form. For the 2023-2024 school year, this is currently approximately 5 pm – 5:30 pm.
Food / Snacks
Yes – Healthy food items to eat as well as milk, juice, and water for beverages are provided.
After School Care is not available when school is not in session or closes early for the day due to weather.
Registration Forms and Pricing
Pricing is per child per day (not hourly) and is as listed below:
- $5.00 – Before School Care
- $7.00 – After School Care, non-Early Dismissal Day

Program History
In the Fall of 2017, St. John the Baptist Catholic School successfully administered an after school Extended Care program for the first time. The goal was to provide students with a sense of well-being while giving parents the feeling that their child(ren) will be adequately cared for after school.
In the Fall of 2018, St. John the Baptist Catholic School continued their after school Extended Care program and successfully added a before school program as well.
Thanks to continued support from families for the program, St. John the Baptist Catholic School has been able to continue providing this resource for parents each school year.
